Initial planning

Main Idea:
After proposing our ideas to one another, we decided to focus on the sensitive subject of mental illness. The topic itself has never focused on the stigma behind mental health, mainly because of its sensitivity and emotional factors. We would like to explore the issues faced by Mental health patients in society and the discrimination that they have been subject too. We realize that the subject may be very upsetting for viewers due to the nature of the documentary. The proposed documentary would sought an observational look at Mental health as we feel that the interviews will be more than enough to give the audience enough of an insight into these peoples lives.

Other ideas:
.Racism in Football
.The Energy Crisis
.Life of a mental Health worker
. Prejudice of Mental Health
. Post Traumatic Stress- A soldiers Story

 Primary Audience:
Because of the nature of the documentary we think that the documentary will be viewed by adults.

 Secondary Audience:
We think that our secondary audience may be teens as they maybe able to relate to their own experiences with mental health while their time in education. They may also be interested in the documentary because we are teen's are selves.

Purpose of Documentary:
Our main purpose of the documentary, is to explore the discriminating and prejudice faced by people with mental health issues. We also wanted to look at where these prejudice views have earthed from. We understand that the subject is both sensitive and emotional; we therefore believe that the documentary should be plainly observational and simply made of facts and personal views.

 Style:
We think that because of the nature of the documentary, its should be only be observational so that the emotional and sensitive issues are not discounted or hidden in any way. We want to create a media product that highlights personal experiences and views of a range of people. Subsequently the audience will be able to make their own opinion on the subject.

Potential Constraints:
One of the potential constraints that we could face, is finding willing people to interview on camera. We might find it hard to finance the travelling.
